Abu Dhabi Grand Prix FP2 Results

FP1 had six differenet rookies taking to the track for testing. The standout was Ryo Hirakawa who drove in place of Oscar Piastri and finished in P14. Jack Doohan is racing in place of Esteban Ocon this weekend after Alpine announced that they were dropping the Frenchman after Qatar. See what happened in the second free practice session:

McLaren and Ferrari are in a close battle for the constructor's championship
- They are separated by 21 points with McLaren currently in the lead
Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris are in the fight for P2 in the Driver's championship
- Charles Leclerc was just given a 10-place grid penalty after using two many energy store units throughout the season. This will have major implications for the both championship battles
Williams is looking strong out on track despite both drivers receiving 5-place grid penalties for using too many power units
George Russell and Max Verstappen have been in a verbal feud since the Qatar Grand Prix
- Russell made some comments about Verstappen's penalty and now, the two have been sharing unpleasant comments back and forth with both of their team principals now getting involved
Max Verstappen was seeming to struggle as he mentioned hat the front axle is not turning
McLaren are looking to be the strongest contenders with Lando Norris staying at the top of the timesheets ahead of Oscar Piastri
Franco Colapinto ran wide on a flying lap which seems to have damaged his car
- The Williams has now been pitted and will not be returning to the track as the mechanics have to work on it
Unfortunately, Alex Albon also started to see some troubles near the end of the session
- The Thai driver pitted his car but was unsure what the problem was
- The issue didn't hault Albon's session for too long as he was able to get out for some final few laps
Lando Norris topped the session ahead of Oscar Piastri and Nico Hulkenberg
