Marko confirms Ricciardo's secret paddock visit
Helmut Marko confirmed Daniel Ricciardo made a secret visit to the F1 paddock but denied rumors of a Red Bull return. Ricciardo, who was replaced by Liam Lawson last year, has been absent from F1 and recently focused on business ventures, including launching a rosé wine. Despite Lawson's poor performances fueling speculation, Red Bull never considered bringing Ricciardo back and promoted Yuki Tsunoda instead. However, Christian Horner previously suggested Ricciardo could return to F1 in 2026, possibly with Cadillac.

Perez could be an option for Cadillac
Mario Andretti said Sergio Perez is a strong option for Cadillac’s 2026 F1 team, especially after Liam Lawson struggled at Red Bull. Perez lost his Red Bull seat in 2024 and has no team for 2025, but he hasn’t decided on his future yet. Andretti pointed out that Lawson’s poor results, including failing to score in his first two races before being demoted, make Perez look like a better choice. While Cadillac is still looking at other experienced drivers, Andretti’s comments suggest Perez is high on their list.

Why V10 engine comeback is unlikely
Formula 1 will introduce new engines in 2026, but rumors of a return to loud V10s remain highly unlikely. While advances in sustainable fuel technology could theoretically make V8 or V10 engines viable again, the auto industry sees little benefit in reviving them. Instead, major fuel companies are investing in renewable fuels, which could influence future F1 power units beyond 2028. Despite discussions about alternatives like hydrogen or hybrid engines, the sport's direction suggests that hybrid technology will remain dominant, with a potential increase in the combustion engine's role.

What's making Piastri a real title contender
Oscar Piastri has turned his weaknesses into strengths, making himself a real title contender in 2025. He has improved in qualifying and is now much stronger in races, as seen in Australia and China. His first F1 pole and win in Shanghai showed how far he has come from his struggles last year. With Norris facing his own challenges, Piastri’s growing confidence and pressure from the other side of the garage are making McLaren’s internal battle even more intense.
