Norris topped FP1 in Bahrain ahead of the Alpine of Gasly| Bahrain Grand Prix FP1 Results 2025

We are back at the Bahrain International Circuit for the second race weekend in this triple header. The last time the drivers took to the track in Bahrain was back in February of 2025 for their pre season testing sessions. There were six rookie appearances in the first free practice session of the Bahrain Grand Prix weekend with Ferrari, Williams, Red Bull, Mercedes, Aston Martin and Haas giving time to their young rookie drivers. The main storyline of this practice session was the lack of grip at the track. See what else happened in the session:

• The session had quite the mix of results with many of the drivers struggling with grip and not being able to maximize the performance out of the car
• Ryo Hirakawa drove for Alpine during the first free practice of the Japanese Grand Prix but has since switched teams to now become the reserve driver for Haas
  • The Japanese driver drove in replacement of Ollie Bearman during FP1
• Kimi Antonelli was having a power issue early on in the session, resulting in him heading back to the pit lane
• Lando Norris is looking like the strongest driver out on track with his McLaren occupying the top of the timesheets for the majority of the session
• The young Australian, Oscar Piastri, was one of the first drivers to complain of the lack of grip
  • Liam Lawson mentioned the same thing shortly after, also stating how he thinks its effecting the balance of his car
• Alex Albon and Yuki Tsunoda had a close altercation in the pit lane which will be investigated by the FIA stewards after the session
• Lando Norris topped the first free practice session ahead of Pierre Gasly and Lewis Hamilton
