Lando Norris secured the win in Albert Park ahead of Max Verstappen and George Russell after a rainy Grand Prix filled with five DNFs
The start grid has been set for the Australian Grand Prix and Lando Norris will be starting the race from pole position. McLaren has locked out the front row ahead of Max Verstappen and George Russell. Unfortunately, after Ollie Bearman's difficulty in the practice sessions, the young Brit was unable to get his Haas out on track, resulting in him needing to start the Grand Prix from the pit lane. Ahead of the Grand Prix, it was announced that Liam Lawson would also be starting the race from the pit lane after changes were made to his Red Bull under Parc Ferme. Isack Hadjar had one of the most impressive qualifying sessions, putting his Racing Bull in P11 ahead of Fernando Alonso. With the grid set for the race, lets see what happened during the 2025 Australian Grand Prix:
- After his impressive qualifying session, Isack Hadjar unfortunately had a mishap on the formation lap and put his Racing Bull into the wall.
- This delayed the race start by 15 minutes as the marshals had to clean up the mess.

- The safety car ended after 5 laps
- Max Verstappen had a close moment at Turn 11, going wide and nearly losing the car on Lap 17
- Fernando Alonso had a brush wit the wall on Lap 34, resulting in a safety car and the retirement of his Aston Martin
- This sent the grid into a frenzy of pit stops with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri still leading the field for McLaren on Lap 35
- Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri both spun out on Lap 44 ending their front row lockout
- Piastri spun off at his home race and fell a lap behind the rest of the pack
- Liam Lawson and Gabriel Bortoleto both crashed their cars, resulting in the two drivers having to retire from the race
- Alex Albon had a very solid race for Williams, putting his car in P5 and securing 10 points for his team
- Albon was promoted to P4 after Kimi Antonelli was handed a 5 second penalty for an unsafe release in the pit lane. Following the session, Mercedes successfully overturned the penalty
