McLaren showed their strength under the flood lights in Jeddah, trailed in third by Max Verstappen
The second practice session of the race weekend started under the flood lights and cooler air temperatures. Here's your recap and results:
- Stake driver Gabriel Bortoleto was forced to miss the session after the team found a fuel leak. They were unable to make repairs and that forces the Brazilian driver to the sidelines until FP3 on Saturday
- Racing Bull's Liam Lawson was given a formal reprimand for cutting the white line at pit entry for the second time. These reprimands are more serious and sit on the drivers' records for the season. The fifth reprimand in a year triggers a 10-place grid penalty
- Lance Stroll brought a yellow flag out early into the session when he spun at turn 1. He may have ruined his tires, but his Aston Martin was safe and the session quickly carried on under green flag
- Lewis Hamilton was noted for impeding Alex Albon along the racing line as the Thai driver came around on a flying lap
- Soft tire testing was well underway here as the full grid was out on the reds testing their performance under FP2 conditions
- Yuki Tsunoda struck the barrier in the final corner with under 10 minutes left. It was the first crash and first red flag of the weekend. Yuki was up and walking around the track, with the medical car coming strictly as a precaution
- The session resumed with only seconds left, and Isack Hadjar was the only working car that didn't make it back on track. Everyone went out to get their practice starts in
- The session ended with McLaren at the top of the timesheet ahead - Lando then Oscar - with Max Verstappen in P3
