McLaren quits Formula E this season
McLaren has announced it will leave Formula E at the end of this season for strategic reasons. This comes after confirming their entry into the World Endurance Championship in 2027. McLaren joined Formula E in 2022 by buying the Mercedes team and is currently third in the standings. The team will try to find a new owner and focus on finishing the season strongly.

Mexican GP set to extend F1 deal
The Mexican Grand Prix is set to renew its Formula 1 contract with a deal expected to be announced soon, according to Clara Brugada, the head of Mexico City's government. The new deal will likely keep the race until 2028, and it will still be privately funded after the government stopped supporting it in 2018. Even though people worried about the race without Mexican driver Sergio Perez, it is still popular because of a strong fan base built through ticket sales. Perez, who struggled at Red Bull, is taking time off to think about his future after his contract ends in 2024.

FIA to introduce grass fire measures
The F1 Commission's second meeting of 2025 introduced a mandatory two-stop strategy for the Monaco Grand Prix to improve overtaking opportunities.
