Lando Norris topped the first practice session in Suzuka ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc
We are back at the Suzuka Circuit for the 2025 Japanese Grand Prix! Following the race in Shanghai, McLaren are looking to be the strongest team at this stage of the season. Lando Norris picked up the win in Australia with Oscar Piastri securing the victory in China. During the week long break between races, Red Bull had a lineup change with Yuki Tsunoda replacing Liam Lawson at his home Grand Prix. Although this seems like a premature decision by Red Bull, many fans are looking forward to seeing Tsunoda tackle the infamous Red Bull car. See what happened in the session:
- Oliver Bearman was seen stuck in the garage with Haas struggling to set up his car
- Yuki Tsunoda and Liam Lawson swapped seats ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix with Tsunoda taking the Red Bull seat
- The Red Bull drivers are looking stronger than they have at the previous two races
- Max Verstappen finished the session in P5 and Yuki Tsunoda finished FP1 in P6
- Lando Norris seemed to get caught in some traffic, causing him to take too much kerb and go off into the gravel quickly
- Williams looks strong and seem to comfortably be within reach of the top ten with Alex Albon finishing in P11 and Carlos Sainz finishing in P10
- Lando Norris topped the session ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc
