FIA unveils new driver cooling system for 2025
The FIA is introducing a driver cooling system in 2025 after heat-related issues at the Qatar Grand Prix. Developed by Chillout Motorsports, the system includes a cooling box and a flame-resistant T-shirt with 48 meters of cooling tubes to regulate the driver's body temperature. The system is lightweight but must be adapted to each team's car due to space limitations, with the cooling unit powered by an external battery. The goal is to reduce driver fatigue, improve performance, and make the system easier to install, with future versions integrated directly into the cars by 2026.

Verstappen named driver of the year
Max Verstappen made history as the first driver to be voted the best of the year by all F1 team bosses. He won his fourth straight title, even though Red Bull faced challenges with the RB20. Verstappen won seven of the first 10 races and had strong performances later in the season to secure the title. Lando Norris came second, while Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri, and Carlos Sainz were in the top five.

Russell didn't expect politics in GPDA role
George Russell has served as a director of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association (GPDA) since 2021, becoming the only active racer in the role after Sebastian Vettel's retirement. His tenure has included addressing high-stakes issues, such as the near strike following the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix missile attack and tensions with FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem. Russell criticized the FIA for ignoring a GPDA letter urging respect for drivers and expressed frustration over the political nature of his role, which he originally took on to focus on safety and sporting matters. Despite the challenges, he emphasized that the drivers remain united in their desire for transparency and to support the FIA in improving the sport.

Why Checo's legacy deserves more than a disappointing 2024
Sergio Perez’s F1 career is likely ending, as Red Bull confirmed he won’t race for them in 2025. Despite a tough 2024 season, Perez had a solid career with five wins and a second-place finish in 2023. He had some great moments, like his win in Bahrain with Racing Point and his loyalty at Red Bull, but struggled with pressure in recent years. If this is the end, Perez should be remembered for his character, charity work, and team loyalty, not just his tough final season.
