Motorsport UK threatens legal action against FIA

Motorsport UK has warned the FIA that it will take legal action if concerns about leadership and governance are not addressed. The issue started when David Richards and others were blocked from a meeting for refusing to sign a strict confidentiality agreement. Richards said the agreement was unfair because it made everything secret and allowed the FIA to punish people without clear rules. This dispute adds to growing concerns about President Mohammed Ben Sulayem’s leadership as he prepares for re-election in 2025.

Verstappen launches Aston Martin GT3 effort

Max Verstappen is expanding his racing team, Verstappen.com Racing, into the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup with Aston Martin cars. He has teamed up with 2 Seas Motorsport, and sim racer Chris Lulham will now race in the real world alongside Thierry Vermeulen and Harry King. Lulham will also compete in the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup with Emil Frey Racing and will race a Ferrari 296 GT3 with Vermeulen. Verstappen said he is happy to help sim racers move into real racing and hopes his team can compete at a high level.

Colapinto’s manager calls out fan abuse

Since Alpine made Franco Colapinto a reserve driver, Jack Doohan faced hateful comments from Argentine fans. Some even wished he would get injured so Colapinto could replace him, and Alpine had to delete posts because of the abuse. Colapinto’s manager, Jamie Campbell-Walter, spoke out and told fans to support the team instead of attacking Doohan. He warned that their actions hurt Colapinto’s reputation and could make things worse for him.
