Severe flooding hits former F1 track Circuito de Jerez

Severe flooding has hit the Circuito de Jerez following extreme rainfall in Spain, leaving the track submerged. Video footage showed the start/finish straight underwater as MotoGP faces a tight deadline to restore the circuit for its upcoming race. Last year, extreme weather forced MotoGP and Formula E to relocate events. MotoGP moved its season finale from Valencia to Barcelona, and Formula E shifted pre-season testing from Valencia to Madrid. While Jerez hasn't hosted an F1 race in nearly 28 years, it remains a key location for private testing.

Can Drive to Survive recapture the thrill?

Drive to Survive Season 7 tries to recapture its former glory by focusing on characters like Flavio Briatore and Christian Horner, who bring much-needed drama to the show. While the series struggles with PR-controlled narratives and uninspiring race sequences, explosive moments like Horner’s controversy and Briatore’s ruthless Alpine leadership keep it engaging. The show also squeezes tension from minor storylines, such as Sainz's contract saga and Perez’s struggles, making the most of otherwise dull developments. Despite missing key moments like Adrian Newey’s move and Logan Sargeant’s exit, the season thrives on its unfiltered personalities, proving that F1’s most compelling figures remain its seasoned veterans.
