Six different rookies took to the track for FP1 in Abu Dhabi... See what happened in Free Practice and who topped the session
It is time for the final race of the 2024 Formula 1 season. The constructor's championship will be decided this weekend with Ferrari and McLaren only being separated by 21 points. While that is very exciting, we also get to see the fight for P2 in the driver's, with Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris being separated by 8 points, and the fight for P6 and P7 in the constructor's with Alpine, Haas and VCARB all being separated by a very small margin. - Arthur Leclerc in place of Carlos Sainz
- Isack Hadjar in place of Max Verstappen
- Felipe Drugovich in place of Lance Stroll
- Ayumu Iwasa in place of Yuki Tsunoda
- Luke Browning in place of Alex Albon
- Arthur Leclerc and Charles Leclerc make history as the first brothers to drive as teammates in FP1
- Isack Hadjar, who is driving in place of Max Verstappen, was struggling early on and saying that his 'wheel clearance' was bad
- Jack Doohan is racing for Alpine in Abu Dhabi after it was announced that Esteban Ocon would be replaced ahead of the final race of the season
- Esteban Ocon is heading to Haas for the 2025 season
- It was announced during the session that the Chinese Grand Prix will stay on the Formula 1 calendar until 2030
- Alex Albon and Franco Colapinto will both have grid penalties for the Grand Prix after both drivers exceeded their gearbox allocations for the season
- Charles Leclerc tops the session ahead of Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton
