Meet the contenders for F1's next female driver
Formula One will have 11 teams in 2026, with Cadillac joining the sport. This has led to talks about the possibility of a female driver in F1. Five women have competed in F1 races, the last being Giovanna Amati in 1992, and Susie Wolff, the closest to a return, now oversees the F1 Academy. The F1 Academy, which was created to help women progress in motorsport, has gained momentum, with prominent drivers like Abbi Pulling and Doriane Pin emerging as strong contenders for a future F1 seat. Wolff is optimistic that a female driver will race in F1 within the next decade, thanks to the Academy's support.

Bottas hails Sauber's 'late, ironic' upgrade
Valtteri Bottas praised the recent upgrades to his Sauber car, which improved its performance, but said it was too late in the season for him. He won’t be driving for the team next year, as Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto will replace him and Zhou Guanyu. The update, which was introduced in Las Vegas, made changes to the car’s underfloor, front fences, and diffuser, improving stability and downforce. Bottas thinks these updates have made the car faster, adding about three-tenths of a second per lap.
