Haas begins TPC test with Bearman and Ocon in Jerez
Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon will use the 2023 VF-23 car to take part in Haas' first-ever TPC test at the Jerez circuit in Spain this week. TPC rules let teams test with two-year-old cars, mainly for rookie drivers, but they can also use 1,000 kilometers with experienced drivers. This test is part of Haas' new partnership with Toyota, which is helping with staff and drivers for the program.

Williams' James Vowles had earlier confirmed they were evaluating Ocon for a possible 2025 or 2026 seat but eventually signed Carlos Sainz. Ocon will join Oliver Bearman at Haas for the 2025 season.

Lawson must balance supporting Verstappen while avoiding the fate of past drivers like Gasly and Albon, who were dropped despite not being expected to match Verstappen’s level. His aggressive style may work in his favor, but ultimately, Lawson must prove he can last longer than others and avoid the fate of a burned-out junior.
