Lawson gets new race engineer for 2025

Liam Lawson will not have Hugh Bird, race engineer of former occupant of the seat Sergio Perez, as his race engineer in the 2025 season. Instead, his race engineer will be Richard Wood, who stepped in for Bird throughout the 2024 season. This comes as one of many changes to the Red Bull pit wall as they restructure for the 2025 season with the departure of Jonathan Wheatley. On a similar note, Gianpiero Lambiase will remain as Max Verstappen's engineer but with extended duties as the Head of Racing for Red Bull.

Is this Red Bull's best prospect since Verstappen?

Arvid Lindblad, a 17-year-old Red Bull driver, is close to getting his superlicence after doing well in the Formula Regional Oceania Championship. He has won six races and has a big lead, so he’s likely to win the title and get the points needed for a superlicence. Red Bull thinks he has a lot of potential, and they moved him from F3 to F2 for 2025, and he may also get a chance to drive in F1 practice this year. While his future in F1 is uncertain, his early superlicence qualification allows Red Bull flexibility and his performance in F2 will determine his readiness for a seat.

The car was one of only four made and was stored by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum for 59 years. The auction, which was held at the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, set a new record, as it exceeded the previous record of £29.6 million, set by another Mercedes driven by Fangio in 2013.

Russell vs Verstappen rivalry could heat up this season

George Russell sharply criticized Max Verstappen in Abu Dhabi before the 2024 season finale, calling out his behavior and attitude in races. Russell accused Verstappen of bullying and being unable to handle adversity, as he referred to incidents like Jeddah and Brazil in 2021. Despite efforts to publicly bury the hatchet, Russell remains resolute in continuing to challenge Verstappen. This rivalry sets the stage for an intense 2025 season, where Russell aims to take on Verstappen head-to-head while solidifying his leadership role at Mercedes.
