The drivers and teams are back in Monza for the Italian Grand Prix weekend! There have been some changes to the grid since last race weekend in Zandvoort. Logan Sargeant has since been replaced by Franco Colapinto in the Williams. Colapinto will be making his debut this weekend and trying to prove why he deserves to be in that seat! See how the session went:
- Logan Sargeant was replaced by Franco Colapinto for the remainder of the 2024 season
- Kimi Antonelli borrowed George Russell's car in this session and put it into the wall on his second lap
- This caused a red flag and could have terrible repercussions for Russell if the team needs to replace the power unit
- VCARB brought lots of different upgrades this weekend in hope of improving their performance
- McLaren have continued their upwards trajectory after Lando Norris' win in Zandvoort the weekend prior. Both drivers have been looking very strong and continue to prove their competitiveness
- Lando Norris finished the session in P3
- Oscar Piastri finished the session in P6
- Many drivers had some close moments where they dropped their wheels into the gravel traps
- Ferrari is looking strong at their home race with Carlos Sainz finishing in P4 and Charles Leclerc finishing in P2
- Max Verstappen topped the session ahead of Charles Leclerc and Lando Norris
