As a general admission ticket-holder, you have access to a TON of viewpoints around the circuit. These tickets DO NOT have reserved seating and there isn’t shade or coverings to protect you from the sun or the rain.
There are a HUGE variety of zones for General Admission Fans including areas around: Vale/Stowe Straight, Abbey Turn, Farm Curve, the entirety of the Wellington Straight, Brooklands, the entrance of Luffield Curve, the back half of National Pits Straight into Copse, Becketts, Maggots, the entire Hangar Straight, and Stowe.
There are also designated General Admission Plus Zones: Directly on Luffield corner, the exit of Luffield into Woodcote, and the apex of Copse Curve. General Admission Plus is slightly more expensive for better general admission vantage points and for slight elevation. These zones will sport brick/ stone 'benches' of sorts for 'seats' - rather than sitting on grass or mud.
Although GA+ viewers have a shot at seats - all General admission fans are allowed to bring in foldable chairs or seat cushions into the circuit which will make the experience much more enjoyable. Depending on where you are standing, you may or may not have a good view of a screen, but even then those areas are limited. For that reason, many General Admission ticket-holders show up at gates and head to the zones closest to actual grandstands rather than standing along straights.
Due to the extreme weather conditions that Silverstone can experience, you may encounter everything from mud slides to bug swarms in these areas, but for the energy of the track and exciting race - this ticket may be worth it to a die-hard fan.
There are MANY GA vantage points - we will cover the most popular and best vantage points!
This is commonly considered the BEST General Admission Vantage Point.
The straight between Vale and Stowe is a very popular GA section with a LARGE grassy area, screens, and a view of a number of turns. The massive open area of grass provides you with views of the exit of Stowe, Vale, Club and the entrance of the Hamilton Straight. It is especially popular because you will definitely catch some overtakes at Vale! It is recommended to stand at the part of the fence line closest to Vale (pictured above you can see much more of the crowd at this fence).
This is a much smaller but just as popular General Admission Area, directly in front of the Stowe Grandstands. Unlike other GA areas, this section is a bit more rocky and less muddy - which is HUGE for Silverstone's weather. If standing in front of Stowe, you will have a great view of cars coming towards you down the Hangar Straight into the VERY fast turn at Stowe.
If you stand a bit further to the right, you will be able to see the exit of Stowe into Vale and Club. Please, note, there is no elevation unless you are in the GA+ category - so if this vantage point is what you want without as much obstruction, consider spending the extra money for the weekend. There is, however, a designated screen with audio for this section, so you will always know what's happening in the race!
Technically this section is a VERY large GA section spanning from Maggots down to the near end of the Hangar Straight. HOWEVER, your authors suggest that standing in the Becketts turn is your best vantage point out of this section. While this section is long, it is VERY narrow (pictured above) - so you may have to live your day as a Sardine if aiming for this section.
Your view standing at Becketts will be of Maggots, Becketts, and Chapel - with lots of gravel and errors to follow. Again, note that it is not the be-all end-all of this section to stand within the Becketts section of this GA area, as there are MANY vantage points within these corners.
While there are many smaller fan zones around Silverstone, the one main fan zone is located in the infield of the track starting at farm curve and extending around the entire infield to Luffield. This area is then split in two: one section is the F1 Fan Zone, the other section is the concert stage (will cover below).
The F1 Fanzone is one of the largest at any track around the world. There are the obvious sim racing, podiums to take photos on, live music, food and beverages... and then the not so obvious.... Men dressed as disco ball Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, dirt biking courtesy of Red Bull, Jack Daniels and McLaren, and so much more.
Of course, there were screens dispersed throughout this part of the zone with chairs and picnic tables to rest and recover between sessions (or to avoid the mudslides during sessions in General Admission).
We'd be remiss to create a Silverstone guide without the Main Stage. The main stage at Silverstone has everything from Lewis Hamilton to Stormzy, George Russell to Roscoe, Ollie Bearman making his Haas announcement to Kings of Leon, and even more... Silverstone is famous for their HEADLINE acts to follow each of the days of racing and amazing fan zone crowd moments with the drivers.
This year (2024), we all saw George and Lewis onstage with the entire crowd watching the Euros Semi Final... This was a great day for British People everywhere, but especially at Silverstone.
The stage is known for iconic moments throughout the years and is a place that thousands hang out after a day of racing to either wait out the crowds headed home, or spend time before heading back to their campsite.
**Note - unlike many grandstands at grand prix's there are not sections within your grandstand. Each grandstand (whether a solo option like The Vale or Lettered options like Abbey A and Abbey B), is only denoted by row letter and seat number. Therefore, seats can extend well into the 400s instead of being separated by Section 1, 2, 3, etc...).
Abbey A is a small grandstand situated on the start/finish straight into turn 1 directly next to the Silverstone Hotel and the Hamilton B Grandstand (very comparable view). The grandstand has a view of the start/finish straight and team pits/ garages, as well as the entrance of the Abbey Turn - which is a fast right hand turn just off the start finish line. This grandstand - unlike a few others - does not have general admission in front of it, so it is much closer to the track.
The seats in Abbey A are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including a Castore Megastore and the Mahiki party enclosure.
This area gets extremely busy during the F2 and F1 sessions, as it is along the pit straight. Gate 16 (the main entrance) or Gate 1 are the two closest entrances to Abbey grandstands - and should be where you enter if these are your seats. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
Abbey B is a larger grandstand than its counterpart and is situated at the end of the start/finish straight into turn 1 (Abbey). The grandstand has a further away view of the start/finish straight and team pits/ garages, but has a perfect view of the Abbey Turn and Farm Curve. This grandstand is pushed a bit further back from the track due to the general admission zone in front.
The seats in Abbey B are padded, individual seats - you will likely not need a seat cushion unless you want extra support. The grandstand does have TV screens that are best seen at the seats closest to the paddock and start/finish. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including a Castore Megastore and the Mahiki party enclosure.

The Becketts Grandstand is a very long, elevated grandstand located at the Becketts turn of Silverstone - about 2/3 of the way through the lap. This is one of the most popular grandstands at Silverstone because it will give you a complete view of Maggots, Becketts and Chapel corners leading to the Hangar Straight. Similar to Abbey B, the grandstand is pushed back from the track for a general admission area, but because of the height advantage - your view is unobstructed.
If you ALSO want a view of the Aintree and Loop turns, sit higher up in the grandstand! Many of these seats can see over the fence with a view of that part of the track, as well.
The seats in Becketts are not padded and are hard, plastic, individual seats - bringing a seat cushion is advised. The grandstand does have 2 large TV screens with loud audio across the track from the grandstand. There are restrooms, food, and drink nearby that is shared with the GA sections and Chapel - so lines do not get very long in this area compared to others.
Due to Becketts sitting on the back half of the Silverstone track, it's advised that you use entrance Gate 9 and not the main entrance to avoid a very long walk around the track. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
The Chapel Grandstand is a long, uncovered grandstand located adjacent to the Becketts Grandstand - along the Chapel turn. This grandstand gives you a great view up the Maggots and Becketts turns, as well as the Chapel turn because you are facing the cars as they are coming towards you along these high speed turns. These are, however, the only parts of the circuit that you can see. Additionally, this grandstand is not as elevated, so you will be watching through the catch fencing if sitting in the bottom ~3 rows.
The seats in Chapel are not padded and are hard, plastic, individual seats - bringing a seat cushion is advised. The grandstand does have a view of the grandstands that Becketts can see, but it is at an angle. You should plan to purchase a race radio if you want to follow along with the action. There are restrooms, food, and drink nearby that is shared with the GA sections and Becketts - so lines do not get very long in this area compared to others.
Due to Chapel sitting on the back half of the Silverstone track, it's advised that you use entrance Gate 9 and not the main entrance to avoid a very long walk around the track. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
Club Corner is technically 3 grandstands in one - each with dramatically different views around the Club Corner into the start/finish Hamilton straight. Club Corner A is uncovered and unattached from the covered B and C. It is located on the exit of Vale turn and is the one closest to Vale and furthest from Hamilton Straight. You will have a view of Vale and Club - but not one of the straight. This is, however, the closest grandstand to catch overtakes in this section! Vale is notorious for overtaking (Hamilton's double overtake of Leclerc and Checo in 2022).
Club Corner B is covered and attached to Club Corner C. It is located directly on the entrance to the Club Corner and is closer to the Hamilton Straight than A. You will have a view of the entrance to the Hamilton Straight, Club, and Vale - but your view of Vale is much further away.
Club Corner C is covered and attached to Club Corner B. It is located directly on the exit of the Club Corner and is closer to the Hamilton Straight than A and B. This section of the grandstand offers you the most complete view of this section, as Club and Vale are directly in front of you, while the Hamilton Straight is to your left - as well as a portion of the paddock and pits.
The BEST part of Club Corner C is that you will have an unobstructed view of the race start AND the podium - this is the section we suggest if sitting in the Club Corner Grandstand.
Copse Corner Grandstands are an area RIFE with action - being one of the highest speed corners on the track and a history of crashes. There are 4 grandstands (A - D) that make up Copse. All of these grandstands are much shorter - with only about 15 rows per section. Copse Grandstand A is located on the entrance of Copse and the exit of the National Pits Straight with views of the National Straight, from Copse A you are able to see more of the cars coming through Woodcote on to the straight.
Copse Grandstand B is located adjacent to A directly on the apex of Copse Curve but because of the large run-off area and gravel trap it is the furthest grandstand from the track. The view of Copse B is much more than Copse A. Due to its orientation, you can see the exit of Woodcote, the National Straight, the entrance of Maggots (and Becketts if you have good eyesight!), and, of course, Copse.
Copse Grandstand C is located adjacent to B directly on the exit of Copse Curve but again - due to the run-off area and gravel trap it is also far from the track. The view of Copse C is much less than Copse A. Historically, this grandstand was even obscured - however this has changed. You can see the exit of the National Pits Straight and Copse, but no view of Maggots like Copse B.
Copse Grandstand D is the final grandstand of the Copse area. It is a new addition and completely uncovered as opposed to A-C. The view of Copse D is much less than Copse A. You will have a view of the exit of Copse and the best view of the four sections of the National Pits Straight.
The seats in Copse (A B C and D) are not padded and are hard, plastic, individual seats - bringing a seat cushion is advised. Additionally, all grandstands will have a view of TV screens with audio to follow along with the race. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by - at maximum a 2-3 minute walk.
Because this is a little further around the track, entry through Gate 5 or Gate 6 is recommended- and should be where you enter if these are your seats. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
The Farm Curve grandstand is located at (you guessed it) the Farm Curve - which is an all out section of the track. This grandstand is uncovered and although it is a relatively short (but very long) grandstand you will have a great view due to the elevation- the General Admission section here gets PACKED.
You will have a view of the entire infield section including Abbey, Farm, Village, the Loop and Aintree turns depending on how much you can turn in your seat. However, it is no surprise that this is a very popular area for both Grandstand and GA ticketholders, alike.
The seats in Farm Curve Grandstand are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including those (about a 5 - 10 minute walk) that are located by the Hamilton and Abbey Grandstands.
This area gets extremely busy during the F2 and F1 sessions, as there are many grandstands and general admission packed in this area. Gate 16 (the main entrance) is the closest entrance- and should be where you enter if these are your seats. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
Hamilton A and Hamilton B are what is generally referred to as the 'main grandstands' on many other tracks - spanning down the Pit Lane and start/ finish (Hamilton) straight. Hamilton A is closest to the Club Corner and podium. You will have a view of the podium (very direct), the entire Hamilton Straight (closer to the start), the exit of Club Corner, and the furthest seats to the right will also be able to see the entire Club and Vale turns. Please, note that if you are at the top left of the grandstand, your view down the straight will be obstructed by the Silverstone Hotel.
The seats in Hamilton A are padded, individual seats - you will likely not need a seat cushion unless you want extra support. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including a Castore Megastore and the Mahiki party enclosure.
This area gets extremely busy during the F2 and F1 sessions, as it is along the pit straight. Gate 16 (the main entrance) or Gate 1 are the two closest entrances to Hamilton grandstands - and should be where you enter if these are your seats. Hamilton B is the uncovered counterpart of Hamilton A - spanning down the Pit Lane and start/ finish (Hamilton) straight. Hamilton B is closest to the Abbey Corner and most of the team garages. It is much smaller than Hamilton A and essentially attached to Abbey A. You will have a view of most of the Hamilton Straight (parts can be obstructed by the hotel), the Abbey turn, and the seats to the left of the grandstand can see the Farm Curve as well. Please, note that the podium may be obscured by F1 advertising signage.
The seats in Hamilton B are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including a Castore Megastore and the Mahiki party enclosure.
This area gets extremely busy during the F2 and F1 sessions, as it is along the pit straight. Luffield is located along the Luffield turn - that is essentially a 180 degree ~hairpin. In the Luffield Grandstands, you will have a view of the entire Luffield turn, the exit of the Wellington straight and Brooklands if seated higher up in the grandstand, and a good portion of the Woodcote curve. If sitting in the center of the grandstand, you will primarily see only the Luffield turn and parts of Woodcote. This area is known for a ton of action - especially just after the start as cars warm their tires and increase grip after the first few turns of the circuit.
The seats in Luffield are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including a number directly behind the grandstand.
The best entrance for the Luffield Grandstand is Gate 1 or the main gate. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
Luffield Corner Grandstand is located adjacent to the Luffield Main Grandstand directly along the 180 degree Luffield Corner turn. Your view is not as good as the primary Luffield Grandstand. You will mostly be able to see the entire Luffield Curve (entry, apex, exit). You may be able to see parts of Brooklands in the distance, if you are sat higher up in the grandstand - as well as a bit of Woodcote if on the left side of the grandstand.
Something that is unique about Luffield Corner is you may actually have a good view of the concert stage from these grandstands! Which means you could be watching a support series while drivers are onstage!
It is important to note that while there may be a TV Screen, it is quite challenging to see as it is far away and angled towards other grandstands. You may be able to see it, but may want a supplementary radio to follow along with commentary.
The seats in Luffield Corner are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including a number directly behind the grandstand.
The best entrance for the Luffield Corner Grandstand is Gate 1 or the main gate. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
National Pits Straight is NOT the main start/finish pit straight - that is Hamilton A and B (Hamilton Straight). However, this straight is located along the International Paddock portion of Silverstone which is the OLD paddock building and home to support series! Unfortunately, due to the buildings in front of the grandstand, this view is pretty much limited to what is in front of you. You can see the exit of Woodcote and the entire straight. If you are farther to the left of the grandstand, you will be able to see the turn - in point for Copse Corner, but not anything beyond that.
These are some of the largest and best TV screens of grandstands due to the paddock building, but that's the only perk of the grandstand. The seats are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by at about a 5 minute walk in each direction towards Copse or Woodcote.
The best entrances for the National Pits Straight Grandstand are 3, 5, or 6 - which are gates that will give you a decently short queuing time comparatively. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
Stirling A and B Grandstands are small grandstands located on the exit of the National Pits Straight into Copse and directly adjacent to the Copse Grandstands (pictured above and below). They are both very small compared to other grandstands. Stirling A is uncovered and VERY tiny. It has a view of most of the National Pits Straight and the entrance of Copse into the Apex. This curve is flat out and is great to view some action going into overtakes at Copse.
Stirling B is covered and also a tiny grandstand. It has a view of most of the National Pits Straight and the entrance of Copse into the Apex. This curve is flat out and is great to view some action going into overtakes at Copse. Both A and B are very comparable in view - with the only difference being covering (which is important at the unpredictable weathered Silverstone).
The screens are very easy to view from both grandstands in all directions. The seats are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by at about a 2-3 minute walk towards Copse.
The best entrances for the Stirling Grandstand are 3, 5, or 6 - which are gates that will give you a decently short queuing time comparatively. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
Stowe is a large grandstand broken into sections A, B and C along Stowe Corner and the Hangar Straight. In general all sections have comparable views of the corner. Stowe A Grandstand has the best viewpoint of the Hangar straight, Stowe Corner, and due to its orientation towards the rest of the track, parts of Vale.
Stowe B Grandstand sits directly on the Apex of Stowe and has the most direct view of the corner and gravel trap. You can see more of the Hangar Straight - even the exit of chapel if sitting on the right part of the grandstand, but you cannot see Vale.
Stowe C Grandstand sits on the exit of Stowe Corner and has the most limited view. You can see the exit of the Hangar Straight, all of Stowe Corner, but no view of Vale or most of the Hangar Straight.
None of these grandstands have covering and they all have plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions and weather gear are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by - due to its secluded location from the rest of the grandstands. You won't experience many long lines (comparatively) in this area.
The best entrance for the Stowe Grandstand is 10 - which is a gate directly behind the grandstand and will give you the shortest queue length. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
The View is a very small grandstand just off of the exit of the Abbey turn facing the Hamilton Straight, Pits, and start/finish line. If you've been watching Silverstone for a few years - you will recognize this as the grandstand that Zhou collided with in 2022.
The View (aptly named), has a view of most of the Hamilton Straight, Abbey turn, and most of the Farm Curve - basically the entire start of a lap. One important thing to note is that there are very limited tickets for this grandstand as most of it is generally reserved for family, friends, and the media.

The best entrances for the View Grandstand are 16 or 19 - which are the main entrances to Silverstone. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
Vale Grandstands sit just before the Vale Corner (one of the best spots for overtakes at Silverstone), parallel to the small straight between Stowe and Vale. If you want to see some real overtaking action - this is your grandstand. Vale Grandstand has a wide sweeping view covering most of Stowe and Vale including the straight in between. This means you will essentially have a view of the entire 'right' side of the track (if looking at a map).
The seats in Vale Grandstand are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including those (about a 3-5 minute walk) that are located by the Hamilton and Club/ Club Corner Grandstands.
This area is a General Admission hotspot - for obvious reasons - so note that this area will be PACKED. Gate 15 is the closest entrance- but there are other entrances close-by near the Main Entrance and Abbey. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
Village A is located directly next to the Farm Curve Grandstand and is a very long and large grandstand along the very small straight leading into the Village Turn. Your view from Village A includes the exit of Farm Curve, Village, the Loop, and Aintree turns. Once the cars enter the Wellington Straight, after those series of turns you will lose the cars behind the Village B Grandstand. However, because this grandstand is uncovered - the higher you sit, the better your vantage point will be. You may be able to catch parts of the straight if you're in the top 1-3 rows.
The seats in the Village A Grandstand are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including those (about a 7 - 10 minute walk) that are located by the Hamilton and Abbey Grandstands.
This area gets extremely busy during the F2 and F1 sessions, as there are many grandstands and general admission packed in this area. Even though GA does not have standing room in front of the Village Grandstands, they will be right next to you at the Farm Curve!

The Village B Grandstands are located next to the Village A Grandstands along the apex of the Village Turn. Village B has a straight on view of the Village Turn, the Loop turn, and Aintree turn - you can also see the beginning of the Wellington Straight. In the higher rows, you will be able to see more of the Wellington Straight, but the full straight is obscured by the roof. Additionally, in the top 1-3 rows, you may be able to catch glimpses of the cars on the other side of the infield at Maggots and Becketts (if you have great eyesight).
The seats in the Village B Grandstand are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by including those (about a 7 - 10 minute walk) that are located by the Hamilton and Abbey Grandstands.
This area gets extremely busy during the F2 and F1 sessions, as there are many grandstands and general admission packed in this area. Even though GA does not have standing room in front of the Village Grandstands, they will be right next to you at the Farm Curve!

Woodcote is a 3 section Grandstand (A, B, and C) located on the Woodcote curve between Luffield and the National Pits Straight. Woodcote A is located on the entrance of Woodcote and has views of Wellington Straight exit, Brooklands, Luffield, Woodcote, and the start of the National Pit Straight. The further left in the grandstand that you sit, the more of Brooklands you can see. Please, note that there is a very large TV tower (pictured) that can obscure your view of the track in the distance.
Woodcote B is located directly on the apex of the Woodcote Curve and has a much better view of the entire National Pits Straight and Woodcote, but you will lose your view of Brooklands and Wellington the further to the left of the grandstand you get. If you want the most complete view of National Pits, Woodcote, Brooklands, and Wellington - try to sit towards the right part of this grandstand.
Woodcote C Grandstand is located on the exit of the Woodcote Curve, nearly sitting on the National Pits Straight. Unlike Woodcote B and A, you will not have covering. -which actually works in your favor to increase the view of the track. Most seats will have a view of the exit of Brooklands, most of Luffield, Woodcote, all of the National Pits Straight and the entrance to Copse Corner - however, the higher up you sit, the better your view of further parts of the track will be!
The seats are plastic and unpadded, individual seats, so seat cushions are advised. There are a number of restroom and food/ drink facilities close by directly behind Woodcote or further down this section into Luffield. Note, this area gets EXTREMELY busy.
The best entrances for the Woodcote Grandstands are 3 or 19. Make sure that you give yourself an extra 10 or so minutes of buffer time to find your seat before a session begins and note that queue times can take up to 2 hours at the entrances.
