Final practice for the F1 Dutch Grand Prix was stopped for over 40 minutes after Logan Sargeant crashed in the wet conditions at Zandvoort. His car hit the barrier and caught fire, but Sargeant was unharmed. The session was paused while the track was cleaned and barriers were fixed. With his car heavily damaged, it’s uncertain if Sargeant will be able to qualify.

Abbi Pulling and Doriane Pin both took pole positions at the F1 Academy, qualifying in Zandvoort. Pulling, who leads the 2024 standings, got the top spot for Race 1 with a time of 1:46.746s despite the rainy and slippery track. Pin won pole for Race 2 by just 0.011s. The session had a red flag due to a crash by Bianca Bustamante, and other drivers like Nerea Martí and Nina Gademan also performed well.

Alpine's move to promote Jack Doohan for 2025 leaves just three seats open for next year. Mercedes is almost certain to confirm Andrea Kimi Antonelli alongside George Russell, and Red Bull will likely finalize their lineup between Sergio Perez, Daniel Ricciardo, and Liam Lawson. Red Bull might consider loaning Lawson out if he doesn't secure a spot, with Sauber/Audi being a potential destination. Sauber's decision will depend on their new management and whether they opt for an experienced driver or a promising rookie like Lawson.
