Monza circuit changes draw driver criticism
Drivers have voiced frustration over last-minute changes to the Monza circuit for the Italian Grand Prix, including a track resurfacing and new curbs. Daniel Ricciardo criticized the loss of the track's traditional character, while George Russell expressed disappointment over the lack of driver input in these decisions. Lewis Hamilton preferred to wait until driving on the modified track before making a judgment. Charles Leclerc acknowledged the necessity of track updates but has not yet experienced the new curbs.

Antonelli crashes on Mercedes FP1 debut
Andrea Kimi Antonelli crashed just minutes into his F1 practice debut at the Italian Grand Prix. The 18-year-old, who is a top contender to replace Lewis Hamilton next season, spun into the barriers at Parabolica after setting the fourth-fastest time and the best middle sector. Thankfully, Antonelli was unhurt, but his crash stopped the session and was a disappointing start in front of his home crowd. This accident complicates Antonelli’s chances as Mercedes looks for Hamilton’s replacement.

Why Williams passed on 'not special' Schumacher
Williams decided to promote Franco Colapinto over Mick Schumacher because team principal James Vowles felt Schumacher lacked the “special” quality needed for the team’s future. While Schumacher was considered competent and experienced, Vowles believed that investing in Colapinto, who is part of the academy and has been closely involved with the team, was a better long-term strategy. “Mick is not special. He has just been good. I think he would come with a lot more experience than Franco does," he explained.
