• Pierre Gasly was later disqualified from qualifying which meant that he had to start the race from P18 (last place)
• Zhou Guanyu received a penalty for changing power units and had to start the race from P17
• Lewis Hamilton and Esteban Ocon also changed elements to their car so they had to start from the pit lane
• Charles Leclerc started on pole ahead of Oscar Piastri and Carlos Sainz
• Leclerc was able to hold his position for the start of the race
• Lance Stroll got a puncture on the first lap, causing him to pit and fall down the ranks into P20
• Yuki Tsunoda retired on lap 16 after making contact with Lance Stroll on lap 1
• Oscar Piastri overtook Charles Leclerc for the lead on lap 20 of the race
• Piastri, Leclerc and Perez were in a three way battle for the lead for the entirety of the race
• With five laps left, Lance Stroll retired the car due to a brake problem
• Both Williams drivers scored points with Alex Albon finishing in P7 and Franco Colapinto finishing in P8
• Ollie Bearman finished ahead of his teammate to claim P10 and take the final point
• Carlos Sainz and Sergio Perez crashed out on the last lap causing the race to finish under a virtual safety car
• Oscar Piastri claimed the victory in Baku ahead of Charles Leclerc and George Russell
