F1 chief promises 'different sound' in 2026
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali acknowledges the criticism from fans regarding the quieter engines introduced in 2014 and states that a "different sound" is needed. New regulations set to be implemented in 2026 will increase electrical power usage and incorporate sustainable fuels to reduce the sport's carbon footprint. While a return to the loudness of previous V10 and V12 engines is not feasible, Domenicali promises that the upcoming regulations will provide cars with more power and higher engine noise to fulfill fans' desire for an enhanced auditory experience.

RedBird has been actively involved in sports investments, acquiring control of AC Milan, the XFL professional football league, and stakes in various sports teams, including the Rajasthan Royals cricket team. The potential acquisition of a stake in Alpine would help RedBird expand its presence in the sports market and contribute to the growth of Alpine's F1 business, media rights, and content creation.
