Red Bull's technical director, Pierre Wache, explained that the team is currently focusing on three cars due to increased competition from Ferrari and McLaren in Formula 1. They're working hard to update their RB20 to stay ahead, especially as each team has recently secured a grand prix victory. "For the current year and next year's development, we have three cars to work on, [also with] 2026 that is a big change," Wache explained.

Kevin Magnussen had hoped for a better 2024 Formula 1 season after a challenging 2023, but he continues to struggle compared to his teammate Nico Hulkenberg. Despite improvements in the car and tire management, Magnussen's qualifying pace hasn't matched Hulkenberg’s. This weekend at the Canadian Grand Prix, Jack Doohan will replace Esteban Ocon for Alpine's opening practice session, which marks his first appearance of the season.
