Perez slams Lawson's 'reckless attitude' after Mexico GP clash

Sergio Perez criticized Liam Lawson's attitude toward Formula 1 after their clash at the Mexico City Grand Prix, saying Lawson's behavior could hurt his chances in the tough world of F1. Perez believes Lawson caused unnecessary damage when they battled on Lap 19 by not respecting track limits. He also pointed out that Lawson has had issues with other drivers, like Fernando Alonso, and isn't showing enough respect on or off the track. "I don't think he's showing the right attitude to show a good pace for himself, because I think he's a great driver and I hope for him that he can step back and learn from it." Perez continued, "In his two first Grand Prix he has had too many incidents. I think there will be a point where it can cost him too much, like it did this weekend."

FIA may take action over Leclerc's swearing

The FIA is thinking about investigating Charles Leclerc for swearing during the post-race press conference. When asked about a stressful moment in the race, Leclerc said, "I had one oversteer and then... 'f**k'... oh, sorry!" This comes after Max Verstappen received a community service order for swearing in a press conference, which led FIA president Mohammed ben Sulayem to ask for an end to broadcasting bad language. The FIA is still deciding whether to report Leclerc to the stewards.

Mexican GP driver performance rankings

Carlos Sainz had an impressive weekend at the Mexican Grand Prix, starting from pole and winning the race while outshining his title rivals. Sergio Perez had a terrible race, as he struggled with speed and ultimately retired, which added to his tough season. The rankings for the drivers are determined based on various performance criteria, including pace, racecraft, and consistency, and will fluctuate each weekend depending on their execution. Overall, while some drivers maximized their potential, others, like Perez, fell short.

Red Bull won't appeal Verstappen's penalties

Red Bull team principal Christian Horner said the team will not challenge the 10-second penalties Max Verstappen got during the Mexico City Grand Prix. Verstappen received these penalties for hitting Lando Norris at Turn 4 and Turn 7, which the officials decided were his fault. Horner stressed the need for clearer racing rules, as he wondered if drivers really understand how to approach track position at corners. He defended Verstappen, pointing out that, unlike Norris, Verstappen didn't gain an advantage by leaving the track during the incidents.

How Verstappen’s clash with Norris crossed the line

Another Formula 1 clash between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris has reignited controversy, with Verstappen penalized for dangerous driving. McLaren saw this as overdue justice after Verstappen escaped punishment at the U.S. Grand Prix. Though McLaren’s petition for a review failed, the incident put F1’s racing guidelines under scrutiny. Drivers met with the FIA to discuss potential rule changes ahead of the Qatar Grand Prix in December.
