Arrow McLaren signs IndyCar icon Kanaan as team principal
Arrow McLaren has chosen Tony Kanaan as their new Team Principal after splitting with Gavin Ward. Kanaan, who won the 2013 Indy 500, had been the team's advisor and backup driver over the last two seasons. Even after retiring from full-time racing, he stayed ready to drive and was on standby for Kyle Larson’s Indy 500 run. The team, which has won seven races since entering full-time in 2020, will continue competing with drivers Pato O’Ward, Nolan Siegel, and Christian Lundgaard this season.

The idea is still just a suggestion, as new hybrid engine rules are set for 2026. It may be hard to get manufacturers on board, but fans now have hope of hearing that classic F1 roar again.

Haaland spotted in £350K F1 safety car
Erling Haaland was seen driving a £350,000 lime green Aston Martin DBX 707, a special edition F1 safety car, after Manchester City's 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League. This was the second year in a row City got knocked out by Madrid, following last year’s defeat on penalties. Haaland, who now earns nearly £1 million a week with his new nine-year contract, also bought a £200,000 Porsche 911 GT3. He and his partner, Isabel Haugseng Johansen, recently moved into a multi-million-pound mansion in Alderley Edge after having their first child.

The 75 launch creates fresh challenges
The F1 75 launch at the O2 did better than expected, as it attracted 15,000 fans and 1.1 million online viewers. While it wasn’t perfect, it created a lot of excitement for the sport and set the stage for future events. Still, F1 now faces the challenge of keeping the event fresh without overwhelming teams or losing the personal feel that made the first one special. Strong reactions toward certain figures, like Christian Horner, also raise questions about whether the excitement can last in future events.
