On Wednesday, F1 Fantasy moved Kevin Magnussen to Inactive in preparation for his one-race ban and added a note to both the Magnussen and Logan Sargeant assets:

The updated Inactive penalty disclaimer added to the game

A message on the Home page later clarified that Inactive drivers will be subject to a 5-point penalty for missing Qualifying, a 20-point penalty for missing Sprints, and a 20-point penalty for missing Grands Prix:

The Rules page was updated to include Inactive drivers as well:

The revised DNF/NC penalty language

After weeks of speculation, this latest news means that Sargeant no longer benefits fantasy strategists and should be removed ahead of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Post-Baku Update

Here is what we learned after one week of the new Inactive driver rules:

  • No Negative does cancel out the negative points assessed to Inactive drivers
Logan Sargeant (Inactive) received 0 points when the No Negative chip was used

  • The average score used to calculate price changes does not include Inactive drivers

  • Inactive drivers receive the biggest price drop allowed by their price tier, a downside to keeping them and using No Negative
