Sauber is considering future driver options as they prepare for 2025 with Nico Hulkenberg and Valtteri Bottas, who Blick dubbed a “retirement home.” They are looking to replace Bottas, with Gabriel Bortoleto, the current leader of the Formula 2 standings, at the top of their list. Although Bortoleto missed out on an F1 promotion for 2025, he could sign with Sauber and spend a year in the background before taking over a full-time seat. Sauber remains the only F1 team without points this season and will keep their current identity until becoming Audi in 2026, with Jonathan Wheatley joining as team principal.

Lando Norris has a chance to join a special group in F1 by winning his first grand prix and championship in the same season. Only five drivers have done this before, including Giuseppe Farina and Keke Rosberg. After winning in Miami, he is 52 points behind Max Verstappen, with 180 points still up for grabs in the last six races. If he succeeds, he will be the sixth driver to achieve this and the first in 42 years, making him Britain's 11th world champion. His McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri, could also do this, but he is 94 points behind Verstappen and 42 points behind Norris.
