A style rundown from Pit Lane - from special livery to helmets to race suits and fashion from every race weekend.
With the 2024 Italian GP at Monza underway, Pit Lane and FanAmp want you to switch the red lights to green because we're lights out and away we go to take a look at the home of the Ferrari's and their special helmets and livery.
We’re set in Autodromo Nazionale Monza this week —racing at the cherished home of the prancing horse team, Scuderia Ferrari, for the second leg of the European double-header. Last year, we were greeted by the color yellow gracing the predominantly red cars of the home heroes. This year, we might be in for a surprise—because there are little tweaks to the Maranello-based team’s 2024 livery. Today, we’ve compiled our favourite special liveries and helmet designs to showcase—only Monza’s best of the best.
Scuderia Ferrari: 2024 Team Kit and Carbon Fibre Livery
Ferrari Livery
Unlike last season where the team was draped in yellow and black, the Maranello-based team’s battle contender will celebrate the state-of-the-art material in building racing cars: carbon fibre. Instead of decorating the SF-24 with only white and yellow, the numbers of each driver—16 for Leclerc and 55 for Sainz—will replicate the carbon look with its woven texture and natural reflection.
Ferrari Race Suits
Can you ever get enough of surprises? Well, when it comes to special liveries and suits unveiled, we definitely can’t! The two drivers for Scuderia Ferrari will be sporting a similar carbon look for their race suits, featuring the deep black and vibrant yellow colors for their t-shirts, caps, and trainers!
Ferrari Helmets
If you think the surprises are over, we hate to break it to you—because what’s racing without a helmet? Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz incorporate yellow and black colours into their racing helmets.
Sainz revealed his predominantly yellow helmet—bits of black to celebrate the carbon fibre, the prancing horse logo right beside the visor of his helmet, and his racing number on top.
On the other hand, Leclerc unveiled his—also—carbon fibre-inspired helmet. Unlike Sainz, his helmet color is predominantly black. However, the colors yellow were embraced by the tile sponsor and his racing number!
Throwback! – 2022: Scuderia Ferrari Special Yellow Tribute
Ferrari Livery & Race Suits
For the 2022 season, Ferrari had a splash of yellow to celebrate their origins—and of course, their 73rd home race and 75th year as a car company. The F1-75 includes the color yellow plastered on its fin, rear wing, and front wing—and their racing suits! Similarly to this season, the drivers for Ferrari were covered in two colors: black and yellow.
Throwback! – 2022: Zhou Guanyu
Considering how it is inspired by pizza and Italy, Zhou Guanyu’s one-off helmet isn’t just eye-catching for the Italians! A minimalist design that kept our eyes glued full-time (and definitely drooling).
Throwback! – 2022: Valtteri Bottas
As a tribute to Alfa Romeo’s past home base in Milan, Italy, Bottas raced with a special helmet design for the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. His predominantly red and white helmet featured a unique image of Formula 1 cars from two different eras, separated by the colors of the Italian flag with the text ‘Monza’ written on it. Coupled with the images, a small text saying ‘Racing Since 1911’ was also visible—showing a brief elaboration on the two different Formula 1 cars.
Throwback! – 2021: Charles Leclerc
Leclerc’s helmet for the 2021 Italian Grand Prix is one for the books—the helmet, predominantly adorned in white, came with little important details: a red prancing horse logo and the colors of the Italian flag plastered from beneath the visor to the top of the helmet head. Although seemingly a tribute to Monza with the green-white-red flag, the colors white and red also resemble his home, Monaco. A double entendre for a helmet!
