Staying in a hotel

The Strip

The Las Vegas Strip is one of the most famous areas in the United States. Home to many casinos and resort hotels, The Strip has a wide variety of attractions and many different activities for visiting racegoers. This hub provides a constant source of entertainment with large venues at every corner. Most of the resort hotels will also have a showroom, nightclub, casino or some sort of live music venue on the property. Staying on The Strip is also very convenient as it is where the street circuit is held. Everything is in walking distance which eliminates the need for a vehicle or other mode of transportation to reach the circuit.

Two star hotels start at about $110 USD a night during the week but can get up to about $200 USD on the weekends. Three star hotels along the strip are significantly more expensive, but the location makes it worth it. Prices start around $300 USD a night during the week but can get up to about $450 USD on the weekends. Four star hotels see a significant price jump starting at about $450 USD during the week, but prices can get up to about $700 USD on the weekends.

Downtown Las Vegas is known as the central business district but also the historic center of Vegas. It is where gambling originated, prior to the Strip. Downtown is located at the center of the Las Vegas Valley and is just north of the Las Vegas Strip. It is within walking distance of Fremont Street which is a canopied five-block area that houses nearly 24 million LED lights. Fremont Street is the second most famous street in the Las Vegas Valley and is where many of the most famous casinos originated from. Downtown Vegas will be a cheaper option for accommodations but keep in mind that it is slightly further from the circuit. Driving, taking a taxi or rideshare or even using public transportation will be the easiest and most convenient ways to reach the Las Vegas Street circuit.

Two star hotels start at about $130 USD during the week but can get up to about $160 USD on the weekends. Three star hotel prices start at roughly $150 USD a night during the week and can get up to about $200 USD on the weekends. Lastly, four star hotels start at about $175 USD a night throughout the week and can get up to roughly $250 USD a night on the weekends.

Staying in a homeshare

Homeshares are a great option if you are traveling to Las Vegas for the Grand Prix. There are different accommodation options located all around the city ranging from entire houses, to apartments, to single rooms. Prices are very dependent on the type of accommodation you choose, how many guests there are and lastly how long you plan on staying. Many homeshare options offer long term stay deals, so if that is something that interests you, it may be worth extending your stay in Las Vegas!

Websites to check for Homeshares:

Airbnb

Vrbo

Expedia

Finding a place to stay in Las Vegas is not a challenge as there are countless hotels to choose from. During the Grand Prix weekend, there is sure to be a surcharge of prices since there is such high demand for hotels. Las Vegas is on the more expensive side, so it is worth checking out Paradise, Spring Valley and Henderson as other locations to stay in during the Grand Prix weekend. Keep in mind that this may only be an easy option if you are renting a car as public transportation is sure to have delays with the closure of the strip and other roads.
