The Best Trackside Events at the Austrian GP

Are you heading to the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian Grand Prix? Don't miss out on these trackside events!

We are back in Spielberg for the Austrian Grand Prix! This particular race weekend is a fan favorite and never fails in hosting exciting on and off track action.

For a seamless race weekend, make sure you plan ahead and know what you can and can't bring to the circuit!

This year, the Grand Prix will run from Friday June 28th to Sunday June 30th.

The Austrian Grand Prix has two different fan zones located within the Red Bull Ring that provide ticket holders with fun, immersive experiences to fill the time in between the on track sessions.

F1 Fan zone

The official Fan Zone is located in the area behind Niki Lauda Kurve (Turn 1). This is where race goers can expect the majority of activities to be held. Not only will there be performances by numerous DJs and artists, btut there will also be a slew of immersive activities to partake in.

If any fans are courageous enough to brave a 65 metre bungee jump, then that is also available at the Fan Zone! Fans can stop by the F1 Blast Lane which offers a chance to stand in a Formula 1 wind tunnel as well as providing the option for an adrenaline inducing activity such as bungee jumping.

Steiermark Village

The Steiermark Village is another fan zone located at the Austrian Grand Prix which offers fans even more on and off track events. It is located opposite the Red Bull Wing (Welcome Center) and provides a different form of entertainment ranging from a display of historical vehicles, the Legends Parade and lastly, there are lots of refreshment options in the area for any hungry fans.

If you are attending the Austrian Grand Prix, this is a must-see for any and all car fanatics! There will be a large selection of bikes and different vehicles from the "Red Bull Ring Fleet". Keep an eye out for some legendary Formula 1 cars as well!

The Legends Parade is always an exciting part of the annual Austrian GP. In 2024, the selection of cars featured is based on legendary F1 drivers and cars that have won the Austrian GP over the past 50 years. Fans can look forward to seeing some iconic drivers who have helped pave the way for Formula 1 over the years.

  • Gerhard Berger in Michael Schumacher's 2002 Ferrari
  • David Coulthard in the 2005 RB1
  • Emerson Fittipaldi in his 1972 Lotus
  • Johnny Herbert in Elio de Angelis' winning 1982 Lotus
  • Jos Verstappen in the 2012 RB8

When the cars are not out on track, they will be on display at the Legends Tent in the F1 Fan Zone. Fans can come take pictures and learn more about the differences between these older cars and the current F1 vehicles.

Thursday, June 27th: 12:00pm - 8:00pm

Friday, June 28th: 8:00am - 10:30pm

Saturday, June 29th: 7:00am - 10:30pm

Sunday. June 30th: 7:00am - 8:00pm

*The Legends Test is closed one hour before the Legends Parade Track Familiarization (Saturday at 5:50pm) and before the Legends Parade (Sunday at 12:30pm)

Driver & Team Principal Appearances

The F1 Fan Zone will also host a "Meet the Drivers and Teams" event where the current Formula 1 drivers as well as current team personnel will answer questions asked by Karina Toth. The Red Bull Ring favorites, Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez and Christian Horner are all sure to be there too!

If you are looking to get a driver signature, make sure you head to the Styrian Green Carpet on Sunday morning located in the front of the Welcome Center at the Red Bull Ring.

It doesn't stop there! Not only will there be driver and team personnel appearances, but fans can also expect a unique showcase of motorbike skills by none other than Arunas Gibieza, also known as Aras. Aras is one of the best motorcycle stunt riders in the world and will perform his ARAS Freestyle Show on the Friday and Saturday of the race weekend.

Whether or not you are following the Euros (European Football Championship), you should be sure to check out the Football Freestyle Show performed by Arnaud "Sean" Garnier and Jasmin Janssen.
