A style rundown from Pit Lane - from special livery to helmets to race suits and fashion from every race weekend.

With the 2024 Austrian GP underway, Pit Lane and FanAmp want you to switch the red lights to green because we're lights out and away we take a look at special helmets from our Red Bull favorites for the Austrian Grand Prix!

We’re into the second weekend of the triple-header for the 2024 Formula 1 season—and this time, the Red Bull Ring crowd is roaring for the start of the Austrian Grand Prix! Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen have recently revealed their special helmets for this race weekend, but Austria is home to many helmet designs that deserve recognition. Here are this race weekend’s special helmet designs—and obviously, we won’t miss our all-time favorite Austrian Grand Prix helmets.

Daniel Ricciardo

This race weekend, it’s all about the good memories for Ricciardo. As he celebrates his 250th race (congratulations on the huge milestone for the Honey Badger!), Ricciardo will be racing in a special helmet design—he’s bringing back his first helmet from his go-kart era in the home of Red Bull Racing. The team is deep-rooted in Ricciardo throughout his career in Formula 1, and the colors of his helmet are a perfect blend of colors: blue, white, and a dash of silver and red.

Max Verstappen

It’s Red Bull Racing’s home race—of course, Verstappen isn’t going to miss the chance to introduce a special helmet design. The special design name being the Orange Tribute helmet explains it all. Brushed with vibrant shades of oranges, the color of his helmet resembles him and the nation he represents. Verstappen said that the helmet means a lot to him as it’s a tribute to the fans—and when zoomed in, his helmet displays an image of the roaring fans in the background!

Sebastian Vettel (THROWBACK!)

Sebastian Vettel might no longer be racing in Formula 1, but his special helmet for the 2022 Austrian Grand Prix is one to keep in the books. His helmet was painted in the colors of the German flag, along with logos of little bees on its lower edge. Also—he gifted 1 million flowers to nurture the future generations of bees in Germany!

If you think that was all from the four-time World Champion, you guessed wrong—we definitely had to include his 2021 Austrian Grand Prix helmet! Commemorating his first year driving for Aston Martin, Vettel had his special helmet design in three shades of pink and silver for a sponsorship agreement with BWT. Also, a message showing ‘Change the world sip by sip’ is displayed on the back of his helmet—promoting sustainability. His helmet designs speak for the Sebastian Vettel fans know!

Lando Norris (THROWBACK!)

For his 2020 Austrian Grand Prix, Norris decided to go ‘back to school’—he kept the dazzling-camo design from testing early on that racing year, incorporating an illustration of the Styrian mountains into the blue colur of his helmet to mark off the start of that season.

Lance Stroll (THROWBACK!)

Last but not least, we have Stroll’s remarkable special helmet design for the 2021 Austrian Grand Prix—displaying hues of purple in gradation, the design also fits perfectly with the wings of Aston Martin’s logo plastered to the sides of his visor.
