The drivers put up a good fight! Find out who will start the Grand Prix from the front row
Qualifying raised the stakes on an already thrilling day, including a debut by Ollie Bearman in place of Carlos Sainz and a rush from the Stake F1 team to get Guanyu Zhou's car repaired. Here's what happened:
- Alpine continued to struggle for pace, finishing Q1 in P17 and P18 alongside the Stake F1 drivers and Logan Sargeant
- Guanyu Zhou's mechanics worked on overdrive to get his car back on the grid. While they were able to repair the car before the end of Q1, it was too late to make it around the track to set a flying lap
- Nico Hulkenberg red flagged Q2 after pulling over with an engine issue
- Bearman's impressed on his Qualifying debut, making it past Q1 to finish Q11 at the end of Q2, just 0.038s behind 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton
- The final session came down to drivers fighting to de-throne Max Verstappen. In the end, they were unable to do so, and he was trailed by Charles Leclerc in P2 and Sergio Perez in P3
