We are BACK in Qatar for the penultimate race of the 2024 season. See who topped the timesheets for the only practice session of the race weekend
The drivers took to the track in Qatar for the second last race of the 2024 Formula 1 season. Since this is a sprint race weekend, the teams only get one practice session before they jump into Sprint Qualifying. See what happened in the session and who is looking strong out on track:
- Max Verstappen claimed his fourth World Driver's Championship in Las Vegas
- McLaren and Ferrari and in the fight for the Constructor's Championship
- The teams are currently 24 points apart with McLaren leading the fight
- Most of the teamds decided to run the medium tire first in the practice session
- George Russell was mentioning some issues with his brakes
- Russell lead his team, Mercedes, to a 1-2 in Las Vegas with his teammate, Lewis Hamilton
- The drivers all seemed to face a little bit of traffic out on track as everyone was trying to set their flying lap times
- Esteban Ocon was facing some troubles and was stuck in the pit lane
- He will rely on his teammate, Pierre Gasly's, data from the FP1
- Numerous drivers had close moments out on track where they went over track limits and off the circuit
- Charles Leclerc lead the session ahead of both McLarens, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri
