Perez penalized for Canadian GP infringement
Sergio Perez incurred a post-race penalty following the Canadian GP for driving with a heavily damaged car, which resulted in a three-place grid drop for the next race. Perez lost control on lap 53, which damaged his car's rear wing and raised safety concerns. Red Bull wanted to avoid a safety car, but the FIA fined them 25,000 euros for safety reasons. They said driving with such damage broke the rules, even though Red Bull tried to play it smart.

Sauber appoints new performance director
Sauber has hired Stefano Sordo as their new performance director ahead of Audi's entry in 2026. Sordo, who brings two decades of motorsport experience, will report to technical director James Key.
