Helmut Marko has confirmed he will stay with Red Bull, which helps keep Max Verstappen with the team. Marko will stick to his current deal until 2026. This means Verstappen is likely to stay with Red Bull until his contract ends in 2028, which is bad news for Mercedes. Verstappen had an option to leave if Marko did, but his loyalty to Marko means he will stay despite earlier issues.

Formula One will test a new cooling system in car cockpits at next month's Dutch Grand Prix because of the extreme heat drivers faced in Qatar last year. Some drivers in Doha were so dehydrated and sick that they almost collapsed. The FIA and all 10 teams started working on better ventilation, focusing on an active cooling system. They will test it in Zandvoort, and if it works, the FIA will require it for hot conditions in the future.

Andrea Kimi Antonelli won his first Feature Race of the season in Budapest after a late charge through the field. Paul Aron started from pole but dropped to seventh after a slow start and a mistake at Turn 1. Several safety cars changed the race order, and Antonelli took advantage by pitting for soft tires and making key overtakes to win by 12 seconds. Despite Antonelli's win, Isack Hadjar still leads the Drivers' Championship, though his lead is now 18 points.

Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris play keepie-uppie tennis, where every time they get a question wrong or drop the ball, they snip the string. Norris starts by asking his buddy to name three F1 locations that start with the letter B. This is bound to be difficult because, while Piastri is juggling the ball with the bat, he also has to figure out the answer.
Before the race weekend, it appeared the Hungarian GP would be in jeopardy after torrential rain fell on the track on Wednesday. McLaren was probably the worst hit, having suffered damage to their motorhome when extreme weather battered the track in yet another unfortunate incident for the team.
