F1 to replace Rolex with LVMH in $150M sponsorship deal

Formula One is replacing Rolex with LVMH as its official timepiece partner starting from the 2025 season. The new deal, which is reportedly worth US$150 million per year, marks a shift from Rolex, which has been the partner since 2013. LVMH Group, known for its luxury brands like Hublot and Tag Heuer, is likely to have Tag Heuer take over, given its ties to Red Bull and the Indy 500. Hublot, which has also partnered with Williams and Ferrari recently, is another strong contender for the sponsorship.

Has McLaren failed to maximize 2024's best car?

McLaren has been strong in the 2024 Formula 1 season, but there are questions about whether they're making the most of their fast car. They've shown they can compete for wins, but sometimes their strategy lets them down, like in races such as Emilia Romagna and the British Grand Prix. These races show McLaren needs to improve their race-day decisions to turn their speed into more wins consistently.

Marko criticizes teams over fear of junior drivers

Red Bull motorsport advisor Helmut Marko has criticized the current state of F1's driver market and strongly advocated for promoting young talent. He pointed to successes like Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz, who emerged from Red Bull's junior programme. Marko expressed frustration with experienced drivers who he feels obstruct opportunities for young talents and emphasized the importance of supporting juniors despite inevitable mistakes. He cited Ollie Bearman's upcoming move to F1 as an example of nurturing promising talent.

What drivers drove to Silverstone

The British Grand Prix saw drivers pulling up in exotic—or should I say rather unusual rides. Take Lando Norris, for instance; he arrived at the paddock in a Shelby Cobra 427. The car stole the spotlight coz, I mean, it had no roof, it was small, and it just wasn't the type of ride you expected a guy who loves to live life in the fast lane to show up in. Then there were the Honda CR-V and Honda Civic Type R, driven by Ricciardo and Tsunoda.

New F1 movie teaser

Formula 1 and Apple Original Films have released the first teaser for their new movie based on the sport, offering fans an exciting preview of the action ahead. It stars Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired driver who is pulled back into racing to team up with rookie Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris) at the fictional APXGP team. This setup might remind you of the 2001 movie 'Driven,' but with Pitt and F1 replacing Sylvester Stallone and CART. Click here to watch the video.
