IMS, home of the iconic Indianapolis 500, faces repeated trademark violations from Formula One and NASCAR. Both have recently flirted with using the trademarked phrase "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing," originally trademarked by Hulman & Company in 1986. Formula One's promotion of itself as "the greatest spectacle in motorsports" and Nascar's use of "the greatest spectacle in racing" directly infringed on IMS trademarks. IMS president Doug Boles expressed disappointment and readiness to protect their intellectual property. While Nascar swiftly rectified the issue, Formula One's use prompted IMS to take action to safeguard its brand.

Toto Wolff hints at new Mercedes star
