Haas’ $9M dispute may delay Italian GP arrival

Haas might be delayed in getting to the Italian GP because of a $9 million payment dispute with Uralkali. Uralkali says Haas missed a July deadline to refund a canceled sponsorship deal, which led to the seizure of Haas' cars and equipment in Zandvoort. Haas claims the payment was made, and the issue is resolved, but Uralkali still disputes this and is waiting for confirmation and the promised F1 car. Haas can only leave for the Italian GP if Uralkali drops its legal claim, which might still cause delays.

FIA tightens checks with laser scanning for cars

Following the 2022 aerodynamic rule changes and the introduction of ground-effect cars, the FIA adopted a new scrutineering process using laser scanning to verify car designs. Alex Albon was disqualified from qualifying for the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix when his car's floor, which was considered legal by Williams, failed the FIA's checks. Teams provide the FIA with CAD data on their cars, which is cross-checked with laser scans to ensure compliance. The FIA plans to randomly use quick scans on all cars and detailed scans to promote compliance and address concerns about car legality.

Lawson tipped for Williams loan spell

Williams is considering Liam Lawson as a mid-season replacement for Logan Sargeant, with James Vowles exploring other options. Toto Wolff’s support for Schumacher could make it harder for Red Bull to place Lawson, though Vowles says the decision will be independent. While Lawson prefers a stable, full-time seat, he would still jump at the chance to race again in F1.

Pirelli's strategy tips for Zandvoort

Pirelli has detailed several strategy options for the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, where overtaking might be challenging. The main strategies include a one-stop approach with either a soft-to-hard or a soft-to-medium plan. Teams might also consider a hard-to-soft strategy to take advantage of potential safety car periods. Weather conditions and the availability of fresh tyres could further influence pit-stop decisions and overall race strategy.
