Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi admits the team is struggling in 2023, sitting in sixth place after hoping to be on the podium regularly. Magnussen cleared of wrongdoing

Kevin Magnussen, a driver for the Haas Formula One team, has been cleared of any wrongdoing by the FIA following an investigation into an incident during qualifying at the Miami Grand Prix. Magnussen had been driving slowly to create a gap to the car in front of him when Lewis Hamilton came up behind him on an out lap. The high-speed differential between the two cars resulted in Hamilton taking evasive action, causing damage to his front wing. However, as neither driver was on a fast lap and Magnussen had another slow car ahead of him, the stewards deemed that no further action was required.

FIA implements new perc fermé protocols

The FIA has introduced new procedures to prevent a dangerous situation like the one faced by Esteban Ocon during the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Ocon had to make a last-minute pit stop on the final lap but found a group of people in the pit entry as the procedure for setting up parc ferme had started. The new procedures require VIP guests and mechanics to stay clear of the pitlane until the last car has crossed the start/finish line, and it is clear that there will be no more pitstops. Infringements may result in the removal of passes from the team(s) and potential reporting of the infringing team(s) to the stewards.
