Verstappen disqualified for "pathetic" race behavior

Renowned F1 driver Max Verstappen, known for his fierce competitiveness, recently extended that spirit into sim racing, causing outrage among his fans. In a race, he controversially clashed with competitor Sven Haase after being hit from behind by him and his teammate, prompting Verstappen to seek revenge by deliberately crashing into Haase. Fans expressed shock and disappointment on Twitter, with some calling Verstappen unsportsmanlike and arrogant. Pirelli wraps up tire test at Silverstone

Pirelli recently conducted a final tire test at Silverstone following the British Grand Prix. The test included evaluating 2024 F1 tires that don't require heating blankets, with Red Bull, Haas, and Williams participating. Daniel Ricciardo, who will replace Nyck de Vries, worked with Red Bull during the test. Over 3000 km were covered during the two-day test, facing variable weather conditions. Pirelli will analyze the data before the F1 Commission decides whether to introduce unheated slick tires in 2024.

2026 car changes fueled by cutting-edge computing

Formula 1's proposed changes to car and engine rules for 2026 have generated intrigue. Concerns have been raised about potential energy issues and reduced spectacle due to less drag. However, F1 and the FIA are confident in their designs, supported by advanced computer simulations powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS's computing power has allowed F1 to level the playing field against teams with larger resources and has greatly improved CFD simulations. The 2022 cars exceeded expectations in terms of downforce and wake control, although performance loss when following closely is inevitable. F1 aims to align the objectives of teams and rule makers for the 2026 car, and the technology for evaluating rule changes has come a long way since the laughable attempts of 2009.
