- Teams walked the line (literally) with track limits but all the top drivers stayed within bounds to move past Q1
- Schumacher knocked his teammate out Q1 only to settle in P13 on his last run with Haas
- Sebastian Vettel went out on a high note finishing P9 on his last Qualifying run
- Red Bull locked out the grid with Max taking pole for the 3rd year in a row in Abu Dhabi
